Of course, Christmas was a few days ago, but one individual received a gift from “Car Santa” Saturday morning and at the right time.
An NGO called Cars 4 Heroes has gifted Andrew Primm, an Air Force veteran, from Kirksville, with a car.
Primm traveled to Columbia from Kirksville. He was thinking that he was attending a final interview with the organization to get a car. He stated that he was surprised to be given one there.
Terry Franz, the founder of Cars 4 heroes, stated the organization has a mission of giving free and reliable transportation to veterans and also the first responders.
“We cheer holidays like Christmas, everybody likes to give somebody something, I get the rare opportunity to do it 300 times annually to some very deserving people,” Franz stated.
Franz stated just six months earlier, Primm was living in a tent. Now, Primm is able to get back on his feet.
Primm said he was having a hard time not having public transportation in a rural location.
He stated this can make it possible to get him back into a stable job.
“Transportation is critical when you’re in the rural part of the state like I am right now, there is no availability of public transportation,” Primm stated.
Primm stated that asking for help is difficult, but that this particular occurrence indicates how much kindness there is in the world.
