The Italian automaker had initially considered producing 100 units of the one-of-a-kind Lamborghini Concept S in 2005 however it never made it to the production line. The Lamborghini Concept S was first unveiled in 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show by the company but RM Sotheby’s says, “the exceedingly high cost and time-consuming production ultimately ended with the first example also being the last, rendering chassis 001 – the vehicle slated for RM’s New York sale – a true, production-ready, one-off Lamborghini.” Thus RM Sotheby’s has announced plans to auction off the one-off 2006 Lamborghini Concept S at their Art Automobiles auction in New York City on November 18th.
The most unique thing about the Concept S is the cockpit that neatly separates the driver from the passenger with a split cabin. The original model was never designed to run however seeing the attention it got from fans, Lamborghini decided to redesign a second one but with an even more powerful 5.0 liter V10 engine capable of producing 520 horsepower. The car which is going to be auctioned in New York has traveled only 180 km (111.8 miles) as shown on the odometer and it is expected to fetch between $2.4 – $3.0 (€2.1 – €2.6) million.
