The last of the 1964 Ford Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition, was sold in an auction today. The Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas showcased many legendary models to allure passionate collectors. The vintage from Ford Motor Company was auctioned too and its new owner, the winning bidder, paid $170k to take the beauty home.
Celebrating the milestone anniversary of the Ford Mustang edition, the last car built from that edition was displayed for the charity sale. The proceeds of the bid are raised for a special cause–an event organized by Henry Ford’s Health System’s Edith and Benson Ford Heart and Vascular Institute.
Many collectors wholeheartedly participated in the auction, all supporting a good cause. The partnership between Ford and Barrett-Jackson Auction Company is an initiative to raise money for the Get Your Heart Racing fundraiser event happening on September 12, 2015 at Eastern Market in Detroit.
Ford has also showered the winner with special options to choose from. The winning bidder can transform the vintage Mustang 1964 into a unique replica of Ford Championship Weekend or the special chance to install supercharger in the Mustang without any costs. Not just this, the winner is also showered with an exclusive VIP package to the Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Ford Mustang 1964 is the official event pace car on the Championship Weekend.
