Two new videos of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell are doing the rounds on the Internet these days. These videos were both shot in Norway during the German luxury carmaker’s presentation of the prototype model to the press. The all-electric ‘Gullwing’ E-Cell and the new S63 AMG, with a new twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 running up and down an airstrip at Kristiansund is featured in the first video. The second video on the hand projects the SLS AMG E-Cell on the ‘Atlantic Road’ on the west coast of Norway.
Four electric motors placed near the wheels are fitted on the bright-colored SLS AMG E-Cell, which is still in its prototype stages. These four electric motors produce over 526HP and a continuous 880 Nm / 649 lb-ft torque levels. The SLS AMG E-Cell is still going through the development phase but according to internal sources within Mercedes, the company may have the sedan ready for a limited production run by 2013.
