After the success story of the hard top two seater version from Mercedes, the next to come is the open top two seater named SLS Roadster. Sales is expected to start in early 2011 with Mercedes expecting the demand and sales pitch to be as remarkable as the hard top version. Pictures depict this car in its present form.
The bonnet is long and the tail is short, jist like the coupe. The gullwing doors would have to be replaced with more conventional ones. The roof would be retained in shape but its size would be a bit shorter. The electric roof would have a glass rear screen and would neatly fold under the rear deck. The engine would be a 6.3 liter V8 SLS capable of giving 570 bhp at 6800 rpm. Acceleration specification of the car is 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds flat and the top speed is 195 mph which would be electronically controlled. A seven speed dual clutch transmission is also fitted on the car.
