On a year to date comparison there has been an increase in sales of Mercedes-Benz cars in USA by a respectable 26.7% which translates to 19,176 vehicles sold in May this year. This was announced by Mercedes Benz USA. This is in continuation to the 25.8 % increase in sales that the company recorded in the second quarter of the year.
The most impressive gains were noted in the sales of 9th generation E-Class cars particularly the wagon and cabriolet models which witnessed an increase of sales by a whooping 140.7% to arrive at a sale figure of 5,476 units. There has been a similar increase in sales in both the passenger as well as light truck categories.
The S-Class Sedan which is the company’s flagship car also showed rise in sales with figures of 1085 units that’s up by 21.2%. A similar effect has also been noted in the just introduced brand halo SLS AMG and their supercar. The initial sales figure for these cars has been 168 units already. However the best sales figures were registered by the luxury light truck with 2,264 units for their M Class SUV.
The overall increase has been 25.8% for the company with 87,970 units sold on a year to date basis.
A total of 6,964 units have also been sold in May through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) program, which is however a dip by 0.4 % from last year when 6,992 units has been sold in the same time period. However, overall time period if considered for a year-to-date sales study, there has been an increase of 5.9% through sales of 34,898 units as against last year’s 32,951 units by the MBCPO program.
