Opel vigorously stirred the drum for the plug-in hybrid model Ampera. 5,000 orders have already been received and the first vehicles to be delivered yet 2011. Who ordered now, however, will not get the basic version for € 42 900.
Skeptics have been doubts that the Ampera despite additional four-cylinder gasoline engine will only be out electrically.
Opel’s latest press release: “The front wheels are permanently driven electrically Ampera”. Sounds however still looking for a small loophole – the rear wheels are not mentioned, could also forward all the rules of logic, both motors act simultaneously.
The range on battery power lies, depending on driving style, road profile and outdoor temperature “40-80 miles”, the fuel consumption, according to preliminary findings in “less than 1.6 liters per 100 kilometers,” what a CO 2 emissions of 40 grams per kilometer equivalent. These values are of course on the first 100 miles on a full battery, which must ergo only 20 to 60 kilometers will be handled with conventional petrol.
Opel promises a “unique driving experience” – thanks to readily available 370 Nm of torque and the corresponding momentum (about nine seconds to 100kph). At 161 km / h with a final thrust, the noise will not even go with running a range extender on the ears and nerves.
The Ampera can be charged within four hours on a standard household 230-volt outlet, which is quite easy commute. In this target group, it also has Opel apart especially since “Independent surveys have shown that the emission-free range covers the Ampera solely on battery power, the daily driving distance of around 80 percent of European drivers.”
Finally, a word about the warranty: Opel range is available for the Ampera a “lifetime warranty to 160,000 vehicle mileage.” The same goes for battery system when it is not older than eight years.
