The current Laguna vehicle model from the Renault is actually in its third generation. Since it has been around for some time, it seems about time that the French automaker gives customers something fresher. As it turns out, it seems that the French company is trying to do just that. Only recently, someone managed to capture some images of what seemed to be the next generation Renault Laguna. The car was captured as it underwent some factory tests.
It seems that the new Laguna, which is Renault’s flagship sedan model, will be overhauled. It seems that the car will be coming with an entirely new exterior design. Well, perhaps this is the company’s effort to boost sales of the vehicle model in question. After all, back in June two years ago, in 2013 to be precise, the French marquee actually admitted to the public that the third generation Renault Laguna came with a rather old looking design. The company also admitted that it believed that rather old design had negatively affected sales of the vehicle.
Well, thankfully, it seems that this is not an issue that its upcoming brother, the fourth generation model, will have to face as well. After all, the all-new design of the model is seemingly going to look pretty attractive, to say the least. In fact, Renault even points out that the new design will be more emotional and fluid and we quote, not strange.
The next generation Renault Laguna will reportedly take advantage of the Common Module Family (CMF) chassis. As for the engine options and transmission, they will be similar to what the French automaker uses on its 2015 model year Renault Espace. By the way, the latter also uses the CMF chassis.
Rumor has it, the fourth generation Renault Laguna will make its world debut July this year before it eventually arrives at dealerships come September or maybe October 2015. Renault’s plant in Douai, France, will be in charge of producing the vehicle.
