Only $5,995 for a new VW Jetta: true or false?!

by Adrian Hayden

So true! It may not seem very credible, but it looks like the Gilt Groupe announced that they have made a partnership with Volkswagen‘s division of America and will sell three new 2011 Jettas to its members with a huge discount of $10.000! The price for a normal Jetta starts from $15,995, so this will be more than a bargain. The sale will start on December 15th and it will be accessible only through Gilt mobile applications on the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android devices.

On the 16th and 17th of December the sale will take place on Gilt.com and on the mobile applications. Each of the three cars will be presented in a “Gilt Gold” wrap and nearly $18,000 in proceeds from the Jettas sold will be donated to the charity Dress for Success.

Partnering with Gilt was a natural fit for Volkswagen as both brands have customers who value style, sophistication, and quality products at an attainable price,” said Tim Ellis, Vice President of Marketing, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “By creating a special price of $5,995 for each Jetta on Gilt, Volkswagen has taken our tagline, ‘Great for the Price of Good’ to a new level that will certainly create excitement and attention.”
