If reports from British media are to be believed, an automaker from the land of England, Land Rover, is about to open the order book for an open top variant of the Range Rover Evoque. It is estimated that the car will have an asking price of approximately GBP45,000. Just for information, this open top variant of the Evoque was introduced as a concept vehicle back at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show event. There was, however, no hint whatsoever whether the concept might enter production or not.
Nonetheless, only one month earlier, a spy photo showed up on the World Wide Web and it seemed to depict what would eventually become a production version of the aforementioned vehicle model. If this spy photo actually shows the production version of the model, then the Evoque will eventually lose its fixed roof in favor of fabric soft top that is retractable.
Many believe that the Range Rover Evoque will finally make its debut somewhere near the end of June 2015. That is the window where the Goodwood Festival of Speed is scheduled to take place. Judging by the spy photo uploaded onto the web, it is safe to say that the final production version of the vehicle will remain true to its concept. In addition to that, the vehicle will also be equipped with a smart roll-over protection feature. The latter will be activated automatically for off-roading driving conditions. Yet, chances are, most of these convertible Range Rover Evoques will not leave the tarmac, after all.
Besides the top down Evoque, the British automaker is also reportedly working on an Evoque variant that will have a high performance to offer. It is said that this vehicle is currently being worked on by the British marquee’s Special Vehicle Operations division. This high performance Evoque may well have the SVR badge on it, just like the Range Rover Sport SVR does.
