If you, by any chance, happen to be quite a loyal fan of the British automotive marquee Land Rover, especially for the Range Rover vehicle model, you may well be in for a treat. Thing is, the luxury British automaker is working on an open top variant of its Range Rover Evoque, apparently. The car has been caught on tape recently as it was going for a spin at the infamous Nurburgring circuit.
Judging by how the car looks in the spy images here, it seems that it retains most of the design formerly previewed by its concept version. The car will also be heavily influenced by the facelifted variant of the Range Rover Evoque, only that it is going to feature a soft top that can be retracted up and down. In addition to that, the car is also coming with a spoiler that is integrated with its rear fascia.
Unfortunately, it is not so easy to see if there are going to be any significant additional changes on the vehicle when compared to its concept version. Yet, the convertible variant of the British car will seemingly have a massive amount of blind spots. This is most likely due to the rather small size of the rear windshield, combined with the fact that its retractable soft top bears pretty thick sides.
By this point of time, Land Rover has yet to unveil what kind of engines that the car will have. Rumor has it, however, buyers of the vehicle in question will be able to opt for a turbocharged Si4 engine that returns 240 PS of total power output. For an alternative, it is believed that customers will also be able to choose the company’s Ingenium TD4 turbodiesel engine instead. The latter offers a power output that ranges from 150 to 180 PS.
The luxury British automaker has confirmed that the 2016 Range Rover Evoque Cabrio will go on sale no later than next year and that the company will be revealing more details regarding the car soon.
