As one of the world’s biggest automotive exhibition events, the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, kicks off, the French automaker, Peugeot, is trying to take a piece of the cake as well. The company has officially introduced a facelifted version of its 208 hatchback. In case you haven’t noticed, this is the company’s bestselling vehicle model.
Speaking of the Peugeot 208, the French hatchback first went on sale some three years earlier. As such, it is high time that a facelift – or rather, a new generation – comes up. At least, that is the least that the French automaker can do in order to make sure its vehicle can keep up with the competitions in the B segment of the automotive world. Since the car being exhibited at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show is a facelift, people can’t really expect too many changes to occur. However, the car does sport a newly designed pair of headlamps, a revised front grille, new fog lamp surrounds and even newly designed LED taillights that feature a 3-dimensional look. In addition to that, Peugeot has even given a host of new color options to apply onto the exterior of the car in question.
Inside the cabin, on the other hand, customers can find an onboard infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen display. This onboard infotainment system also supports the MirrorLink technology. Yet, besides the infotainment system, customers will also find an improved trim for the dashboard and a steering wheel wrapped in fine leather.
The Peugeot 208 facelift is coming with a 1.0L PureTech engine that features 68 HP of power, to begin with. Alternatively, customers can also choose a 1.2L PureTech engine with either 82 or 110 HP of power. A 1.6L THP engine is also available and is capable of delivering either 165 or 208 HP of power. A number of diesel engines are going to be available as well, with power output ranging from 75 to 120 HP. The Peugeot 208 facelift will reportedly be available with both 5- and 6-speed manual transmissions as well as a 6-speed automatic transmission.
