Peugeot has disclosed plans to organize a launch program for the 208 HYbrid FE concept at the Geneva Motor Show.
The model aspires to provide a mixture of decent economy with good performance. The company says the concept will have an ultra exterior with a much lower suspension. The car will also be equipped with unique alloy wheels and low-rolling resistance tires.
Apart from being sleeker, the concept is likely to use composite materials sourced from local companies. This will give a fillip to the car and as a result the weight will be 200kg (441 lbs) less than the standard model.
In order increase efficiency the car will be powered with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that has an EGC gearbox as well as an electric motor and a battery taken directly from the survival system. This results in the car speeding up from 0-100 km/h in 8.0 seconds and have CO2 emissions of just 49 g/km.
