The French automaker, Peugeot, has officially unveiled recently that its next generation 208 model will be coming with a special paint. According to the French marquee, unlike any other, the car will be featuring a textured paint job. The French company claims that the upcoming textured paint for the model is meant to give the aforementioned vehicle model a twist to customers’ choice idea as well as personalization options for different individuals.
Based on the announcement made by the aforementioned automotive brand from France, customers will be able to choose from no less than two colors at least for the textured paint hue. These colors are the Ice Silver and the Ice Gray colors. There is one thing interesting to note when it comes to this new, textured paint job that Peugeot will be offering for customers of its 208 model. The French company claims that the paint will last for as long as the car will live. In other words, the paint is evergreen.
Well, to be honest, it may not be that surprising, after all, considering that the company has been working on the paint for four consecutive years. As such, the company has successfully managed to develop a special lacquer which features the so-called ‘micro-balloons’ of polyamide and also fine silica particles. According to Peugeot, the polyamide micro-balloons give the textured paint a matte appearance. At the same time, those micro-balloons also make the paint easier to maintain and more proven to wear and tear. This makes the paint superior to the conventional matte paint job.
Speaking of such specially developed paint, it is more than likely that customers will have to pay quite a bit of extra cash. Fortunately, this is not the case here. With the specially developed textured paint for the Peugeot 208, the French company is only asking for GBP645, a price which customers will also have to pay even for the conventional pearlescent paint.
