If you remember correctly, back in the year 2013, the automaker from France, Peugeot, introduced a concept vehicle, the 308 R. Now, the company is actually offering the production version of the vehicle, yet in its ultimate trim, the 308 R HYbrid. As can be seen in the adjacent images, the car features similar cues to those of the Quartz concept car. To begin with, the car looks highly appealing, thanks to its blue and black combination hue. In addition to that, the car also benefits from largely sized air intakes, widened fenders and also 19-inch wheels.
The French automaker claims that this ultimate version of its 308 R hatchback has supercar performance to offer in spite of it being a family hatchback. Speaking of performance, the car is blessed with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Under the hood, the car hides a 1.6L 4-cylinder THP engine combined with a couple of electric motors. Thanks to such a configuration, the car enjoys a total power output of 500 PS and a total torque of 730 Nm. This enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h when it is given a time window of only 4.0 seconds. Peugeot, however, has limited the top speed of the vehicle electronically to the mark of 250 km/h.
Those who decide to use their money on this vehicle will be able to find four driving modes in total. First off, there is the Hot Lap mode. This one gives the driver the full potential that the car has to offer. Below the Hot Lap mode, driver can enjoy Track Mode. This one gives the driver 400 PS of power output and 530 Nm of torque. Next up is the Road Mode. This one provides 300 PS and 400 Nm of power and torque, respectively. Last but not least, there is the ZEV mode. When this mode is used, the car will make the use of the rear electric motor a priority. As for the electric motor at the front end of the car, it will only take action when necessary. This will be determined by the pressure that the driver puts against the throttle of the vehicle.
