The 911 GT3 RS model that Porsche is working on has yet to reach consumers. Yet, the car has already made it into this adjacent video. The car was caught on tape while the luxury German automaker was putting some tests on it at an Italian track in Monza, Italy. According to reports, the car will only start reaching customers worldwide from May this year.
As you can see in the video, the car is wrapped in the GT Silver Metallic hue. Well, it seems that Porsche has decided to tone down the paint job a bit. If you remember correctly, the predecessors to the model came with very eye-catching, if not tacky, paint jobs like Ultraviolet and Lava Orange. Yet, since this new model is also slotted into the 911 lineup, it should expand the range even farther.
For those curious about what the luxury German automotive marquee can offer with the model, they can actually try the Porsche 911 GT3 RS online configurator. There, they will find that they can fit the car with a naturally aspirated 4.0L engine with six inline cylinders. This engine develops no less than 500 HP of power output, in addition to 460 Nm of torque. The car is undoubtedly fast, it can go from an idle state to 100 km/h in as short a time period as 3.3 seconds. The car will top out at 322 km/h. The German company also claims that its latest 911 model here takes only 7 minutes and 20 seconds to go one whole lap at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
As if all those figures are not enough to impress most of the car enthusiasts in existence out there, Porsche is even reportedly prepping a more hardcore variant of the model. Rumor has it, within a few years’ time, the company will be launching a Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The car is expected to come out around 2018 and yet, before it eventually arrives, there may even be the Porsche 911 GT2 in the preceding year, 2017.
