Porsche 911 Targa, The Lightweight Car With Fully Automated Roof Activating Technology

Porsche is elaborating the current version of 911 to new version called Porsche 911 Targa which is produced with the combination of classic Targa and advanced roof-activating technologies.

The new version has replaced the existing B pillars with wide bars called C pillars. With the C pillars the roof panel is opened and covered with the single button press function which means that the roof system is redesigned in fully automated way. Apart from this, the material used for roof system is magnesium and the rear window is made of highly light-weight glass. The body of vehicle is made of aluminum and steel to ensure its rigidity. To ensure safety, the vehicle is designed with Side Impact Protection System that yields all round protection with airbags to the passenger even if the vehicle rolls over.

The latest model have flat six engines that yield the output of 257 kW and it consume 10 liters/ 100 km which may vary depending on the transmission and the fuel efficiency that is equivalent to the classic version.
