Porsche Carrera GT

If anyone thought, that after a truck and the Cayenne, Porsche had stopped developing sport cars, think again: The German car manufacturer decided to build the Carrera GT.

Being powered by a 5.7L V10 engine that offers 600 horsepower, the $440,000 Porsche hits 205 mph, and accelerates from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds. The combined fuel consumption stands at 11 mpg, which is enormous (even for a car with such an engine).

The exterior design is the one of a race car. Looks great, but, in my opinion, tries too hard. A more “earthly” approach (like in the 911) would have been even better.

On the inside, nothing out of the ordinary sticks out a mile. of course we’ve got leather seats, and wooden gear shifter handle, but the rest of it is too ordinary.

The engine sounds great, though. Sadly, with such a power it’s really a shame that this car doesn’t get higher top speeds. The acceleration, although very fast, was expected to be better in a race-car looking vehicle. Of course its performances are better than the ones of the 911, but the Carrera GT costs almost 4 times as much, and has almost double the horsepower.

The Porsche Carrera GT is a good sports car, but not a great one. With $440,000 you could do a lot better…
