911 Turbo S ‘Edition 918 Spyder’ Special on offer from Porsche to those who have placed an order for the 918

by Alex Patrick

The 911 Turbo S Edition would cost $160,000 as against the 918 Spyder which has been fixed at $845,000. The 911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder” is being allowed for only those that place an order for the 918 Spyder. The 911 model also therefore would come in limited numbers of 918.

The 911 Turbo S Series would be available in both coupe and convertible body style and would be inspired generally by the 918 Spyder model.

The power unit of the car would be the 530 HP strong flat six turbo which is the standard fit of their makes. There would however be some special features such as the brake calipers. There would also be some specific and part embroidered model logos and seams. The instrument cluster needles would be different and distinct as would be the bespoke PCM screen and illuminated door entry guards.

The specialty of the special edition as far as interior works go is the enhanced leather work, a special instrumentation version and additional carbon elements both inside and out.

The glove compartment lid gets an exclusive badge that bears the number of the order that the customer placed for the car. Both the 911 and the 918 would be done up in the same color scheme.

Retail price for the 911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder” Coupe and Cabriolet versions as suggested by the U.S. base manufacturers of the car, is the same as the standard Turbo S models, at $160,700 and $172,100 respectively. The price however excludes destination charges. In the German market the car would be €173,24 in Coupe form and €184,546 as a Convertible.

Deliveries of the first 911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder” is expected to start from June 2011.
