Skoda has revealed their CitiJet concept, ahead of its public debut set for next weekend at Wörthersee, where Volkswagen Group will be showing different concepts, historic cars and current production models.
The design concept is the result of ŠKODA’s ‘Apprentice Car’ project, where 16 apprentices worked together for 6 months and here is the result. The whole project was guided by Skoda’s head designer Jozef Kaban.
The roof and rear seats were removed in order to create a “dynamic and expressively designed city-convertible.”
Finished in a blue metallic exterior paint with white accents, the CitiJet concept is powered by a 1.0 MPI with 75 horsepower.
The car also comes with a hand-made rear spoiler, two tailpipes and blue 16-inch alloy wheels.
The interior based on the interior of the Citigo Sport special model, featuring red-stitched, leather-lined three-spoke steering wheel, leather cover of the handbrake handle and gear knob. There is also a 300 watt sound system and music-reactive LED lighting.
It is not the prettiest open top concept, but surely one of the tiniest we have seen in a while, not counting Japanese kei cars.
