Production store floors of the majority of automobile brands in India include just male-dominated labor force. However, Tata Motors is set to alter this pattern. The business will be increasing its ladies labor force from the present 3 percent to 20 percent in the next two years. The automaker also wishes to minimize its reliance on Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) and rather wish to hire 10th and 12th pass trainees straight from their towns and train them at the company’s own training centers.

“There is misunderstanding that females can’t operate in manufacturing because there is a lot of heavy lifting to do. But in truth, everything is mechanised and there are hauls and lifts that do all the lifting. So ladies can be easily trained to operate in a plant,” stated Gajendra Chandel, chief personnels officer of Tata Motors.

The state of mind has frequently made car manufacturers neglect the capacity of women workforce and rather look at government-run ITIs for their entry-level personnel. Ganjendra further added that the company would go to remote and rural locations which haven’t seen any industrialization and determine girls talent, therefore supplying them required training to make them capable for production store floor.

Tata Motors has recently signed a MoU with government identified Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) in May this year. This collaboration will assist the business’s skill advancement centers set across its six plants in the nation. Assisting this effort is the brand-new Factories Act that the central government has asked lots of states to change. This will further permit more women to get used at various producing centers.
