U.S., California regulators reject Volkswagen’s proposed fix for diesel cars

U.S. and California regulators have actually declined Volkswagen‘s suggested fix for a lot of the vehicles associated with its emissions scandal, dealing an additional problem to the German car manufacturer as it tries to clean the diesel crisis.

The Epa and California Air Resources Board (CARB), known as CARB which jointly revealed the Volkswagen infractions– stated independently that they had denied the automaker’s recall proposition for 2-liter diesel autos.

CARB went a step further, blowing up Volkswagen’s plan as well as releasing a notification of 13 violations.

The step comes a day before Volkswagen Chief Executive Officer Matthias Mueller is readied to meet with EPA supervisor Gina McCarthy in Washington, D.C., to discuss the prospective fix.

Mueller told reporters near the Detroit vehicle show on Sunday that he was confident the company would win approval for its suggested solution. However CARB’s action means the firm may have to go back to the attracting board.
