Vector W8 is one of those supercars which were not very successful and they did not go well with the car lovers and fans. The cars which were manufactured in USA between 1989 and 1993 drew visual inspirations from the Lamborghini Countach.
Vector W8 came with a 6.0-liter V8 engine and it was connected to a slow 3-speed automatic transmission gearbox. The car was priced at $450,000 and there were just 19 units that were produced.
Inspite of being not so popular, they are a rare species and so there is always some excitement to have a look at them wherever they are. Recently the first Vector W8 produced was spotted at a local cars and coffee event in Cincinati, Ohio.
This particular Vector W8 was painted with the design of American flag, and the reason for this color choice was to influence the rich Americans and convince them that this was the best supercar to buy.

This car is an early Vector M12 not a W8.
This car was built in Florida after Megatech purchased the company. They changed the chassis & body, then installed a “detuned” Lamborghini engine/trans. It was called the M12 because of the 12 cylinder Lamborghini engine. (Megatech also owned Lamborghini at same the time.)
Previous to the sale of the company, the Vector was the only all American supercar. All of the parts used in building the original cars were sourced from American manufacturers.
After years of legal wrangling, Gerald Wiegert now owns the company again.
