Volkswagen has agreed on a wage deal with IG Metall union on Tuesday.

The deal with IG Metall will see salaries increase by 2.3% from January 2022. It also includes a 1,000 euro ($1,190) one-off “corona support payment” in June, the automaker said.

IG Metall is Germany’s largest union, representing more than 2 million workers in the metals and manufacturing industries, mainly in the automotive sector.

The deal concerns 120,000 workers of IG Metall in Germany, after five rounds of negotiations. The deal will last for 23 months, until the end of November 2022.
