International automobile giant Volkswagen released their brand new four-door coupe CC based on the Passat model. The car is supposed to be officially showcased at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 16th of this month. They released the name of the car as just CC and it does not include the “Passat” tag despite the new model looking similar to the successful Passat model.
Under the hood, the Volkswagen CC will offer three choices: a 2.0 liter TDI standard rail diesel engine unit producing 140 or 170 horse power, 2.0 liter TSI petrol unit that gives 210 horsepower and 1.8 liter TSI petrol unit with 160 Horse power. Volkswagen has improved the traction and handling for all models by providing an electronic cross-axle traction control system. The transmission is supposed to be a XDS standard differential.
The body exterior has also received enhancements like bi-xenon headlights and a stylish front grille. Another major attraction in the CC model is the use of frameless doors. An air intake structure has also been provided on the bumper and silver framed fog lights. Volkswagen has also provided many driver assist features like adaptive cruise control, emergency brake assist, high beam assist, lane assist, side assist and driver alert system.
The Volkswagen is marketed more as a luxury car rather than a sports model. The CC model can be expected to hit all dealerships in early 2012. It is supposed to give stiff competition to the highly popular Mercedes CLS model. The VW CC has a lot of amazing features and due to its lesser price as compared to its competitors it should be a success when it comes out.
