Volkswagen will release the hardcore version of the Golf GTI next week at the Worthersee Tour next week in Austria.
There will be no changes with the 2.0L engine but the Excessive Edition Golf GTI promises wider tracks, reworked dampers and springs, better brake discs and pads, and an exhaust system which is relatively lighter compared to its stock version.
Completing the look of the Golf GTI Excessive will be a set of 19-inch alloy multi-spoke rims hugged with semi-slick tires. The hardcore VW will also feature sill extensions, diffuser, front splitter, air dams, rear diffuser, and wheel-arch extensions made of plastic.
There is no official word yet if the GTI Excessive will ever hit the production pipeline as the car remains to be on evaluation concept stage at the moment. Ifever it will roll out to dealers, it will be positioned between the GTI and the R models in the range of VW Golf.
The accessories of Volkswagen though have expressed that it will be producing the components of Excessive and offer them as options for the buyers of the GTI.
VW has not released any pictures of the GTI Excessive as of this writing. We might have to wait for the official unveiling by Thursday next week.
The VW will also spotlight the Adidas Edition of the Golf GTI at the Worthersee Tour. It is the one we have on pic above. The Adidas Edition was produced in collaboration with the German sport gears company. The modifications done are all on the cosmetics department.
The Adidas Edition gets a set of 18-inch rims, LED tail lights, unique trim for the interior, and Adidas elements. The tail lights using LEDs will soon be a standard for the GTI range.
The Adidas Edition of the VW Golf GTI will not hit the stores in Britain.
