Well known Commodore tuner Walkinshaw is selling two VE Clubsport-based racers with a price of 159,000 AUD for each one.
The cars have been developed in collaboration with three-time Bathurst champion Garth Tander to gauge interest for a brand new racing series in India. They look pretty much like V8 Supercars and are not road-legal as of now as they were developed exclusively for the race tracks.
The power would be derived from a largely modified V8 6.2-liter LS3 engine that would generate an output of 544 HP (400 kW) which will be further coupled to a 6-speed Quaife sequential gearbox, a twin-plate nine-inch ceramic clutch and a limited-slip differential. The cars come with a Braking system that consist of 365mm front discs with AP Racing calipers and 350mm rear discs teamed with HSV calipers.
Actually these cars have never been raced at any of the tracks but during the testing at Winton Raceway, these race cars were quite impressive as they were only about nine seconds slower than a real V8 Supercar.
Well not a bad idea and the price is also not very high but the only issue is that it is not road legal so we will have to see if it gets the required support and love from the car lovers and fans.
