A woman in her 60s who was driving on Highway 440 in Laval, Quebec needed to jump from her automobile after her brakes stopped working.
The driver was on Highway 440 eastbound around 10 a.m. Saturday when she found her brakes not worked, stated Hélène Nepton of the Sûreté du Québec.
The driver attempted to slow down but couldn’t succeed. She left the automobile, which ended up in the ditch beside the highway.
The woman suffered injuries that needed first aid, however they were not deadly, Nepton stated.
No other automobile hit the driver, who was taken to a hospital.
Police do not know yet exactly what triggered the car’s brakes to stop working.
