2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS250 – Photos and Specs

by Site Default

The new CLS 250 from Mercedes is powered by a 2.1-liter Diesel twin-turbocharged engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This power sets the car’s top speed at 150 mph, and the acceleration from 0 to 60 in 7.1 seconds. While these are not bad performances, I would expect more from a Mercedes of this cost.

The standard car comes with leather seats, 18 inch wheels, bi-xenon headlights, sat-nav, digital radio, parking sensors and self-parking. The Sport trim adds 19 inch wheels, LED lights and sportier styling, transmissions, brakes and suspension.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS250 features a rear-wheel drive. The length of this car is pretty large (almost 5 meters).

The fuel consumption is not bad at all for a car that delivers this kind of power: 46.1 mpg combined (36.7 in the city and 53.4 on the highway).

The base cost price starts at $77,500 without any options, and can go as high as $92,000. Some of these extra options include the luxury package (Alcantra headlining, dynamic seats with massage and four-way lumbar support), active bracing through corners, glass sunroof, upgraded hard-drive and a bigger screen for the sat-nav, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon hi-fi, and others.

Although this sounds like a decent car, I believe that for such a price, one could buy one which is more luxurious and has a performance.
