For those who may not have noticed just yet, one of the luxury automakers from America, Cadillac, will be unveiling its latest generation CT6 model at the upcoming New York Auto Show event this year. Yet, as reported by the Motor Trend, it seems that the CT6 will not be the only vehicle that the company will be unveiling at the aforementioned auto expo. It has been reported that the luxury American automaker is going to unveil another vehicle model as well, which is probably going to be the successor to the current SRX model.
It is reported that the car is most likely going to come in the shape of a crossover. However, quite unfortunately, the American company behind the making of the new vehicle is not keen on revealing too much about its upcoming vehicle model just yet. Still, this does not necessarily mean that the enthusiasts in the automotive industry cannot find more information regarding the car. In fact, it is rumored that the car will be coming with an XT5 moniker. In addition to that, the car will allegedly feature overhangs that are shorter than the predecessor at its front fascia. This will make the car look considerably more stylish when compared to its outgoing model.
In terms of performance, it is believed that the car is going to pack a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine with turbocharger under the hood. This engine should have no problems at all spitting out 272 bhp in terms of power output. For an alternative, however, customers can also opt for a 3.6L V6 engine that delivers 321 bhp of power.
Another thing reported about the upcoming Cadillac SRX successor is that it is going to be based on the new Chi/C1XX platform. It is said that Cadillac will also use this platform for a number of other upcoming crossover models, such as the GMC Acadia, Chevy Traverse and the Buick Enclave.
