Report: Mercedes vows to build AMG variants of the next E-Class Coupe and Convertible

by SpeedLux

Gerd Junginger, Product Manager at Mercedes has recently revealed, rather admitted, that the company’s decision not to build an AMG variant of the E-Class Coupe and Convertible was a mistake.

Speaking in an interview, Junginger said that the decision was made seven years ago when AMG had a more focused strategy. Now the company offers a variety of AMG variants and so Junginger stated that seen from now, this decision of not making an E63 AMG Coupe and Convertible was a mistake.

However thankfully it appears that the company has now admitted and realized their mistake and so they would not make this mistake again as stated by Junginger. Obviously it is too late now to realize this thing now and to offer an AMG variant of the current models and so we will have to wait a bit more for the arrival of the gen-next models.
