1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL nicely restored by Overdrive

by SpeedLux

Well known tuner from Bulgaria Overdrive is back with a premium restoration program for a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL.

Talking about the changes done by the tuner, the body has received an attractive candy apple red exterior paint job while the interior cabin has been completely reworked but at the same time it maintains the 70s theme. In the interiors, they have changed the dashboard, door panels, leather seats and also made other minor modifications to create a special look.

The tuner treated and processed the wood in several stages and after fitting the wood in the cabin, they hand-polished the surfaces to maintain the car’s classic look. The stock radio was replaced by a retro looking audio player with support for CD and MP3 formats. Talking about the technical changes, they have used new consumables that include brake fluid, engine oil, coolant and other minor items.

Lastly, the windshield has also been replaced and the gearbox has been tweaked to ensure smooth changing of gears even after the car has been used for more than 40 years as on date. Well the tuner has tried his best to give a feel good look to the Mercedes model of 70s and we give him thumbs up for trying such a thing.
