BMW had first unveiled the 328 back in the 30’s and had then captured everyone’s interest with it as the best looking car of the times. What made the car stand out were its features like systematic lightweight construction, aerodynamic lines, optimum engine types and outstanding suspension technology. This year would be the 328’s 75th anniversary and as a mark of celebrating its grandeur, BMW is coming out with the Mille Miglia the 328 Hommage. The present day car is going to depict what the designer, Fritz Fiedler and Rudolf Schleicher, would have created had the duo been available in the present times.
“With the BMW 328 Hommage, we wish to pay homage to the passion and inventiveness of the fathers of the BMW 328”, explains Karl Bäumer, CEO of BMW Group Classic. “They created an icon, which is consid-ered a milestone in the history of the automobile.”
Also, after having treated us with the details of the 328 Hommage, here is video that gives us a glimpse of the car in action at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. It is the same event where the 328 Hommage also won the “best of show” award in the “Concept Cars and Prototypes” section.
