2012 Ferrari California now Lighter and Faster

by Zack Colt

The Ferrari California was a hard top convertible powered by a 4.3 liter V8 engine with injection, generating a total output of 453 HP. It was originally presented back in 2008 at the Paris Moto Show and it was rumoured in the industry to have actually started as a concept for a new Maserati.

Now, the Italian based automaker Ferrari is planning some changes for the California, which will have as a result the loss of 66 pounds and the gain of 30 more horsepower. The extra boost of power will be coming from the ECU remap and the re-machining of the exhaust manifold.

An upgraded infoitament system along with a possible restyling of the front fascia could make its way onto the 2012 model year California. Which could be a really good thing, since all the customers who will want to purchase the car won’t need to wait long, because Ferrari is planning to start production in January 2012.

So we will be waiting for more information regarding what upgrades the California will receive and inform you in time, just in case you want to purchase one.
