Thus far, a worthy opponent of similar German vehicles, the Infiniti G37 series gets a new version, the IPL. With more power than before, and some design tweaks, the Infinity G37 IPL announces to bring some interest.
Powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine, the IPL delivers a power of 348 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque that connects to the rear-wheel drive either through a 7-speed automatic, or a six speed manual transmission. 0 to 60 time is estimated at 5.5 seconds. Fuel consumption has been calculated at 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Performance of the automatic transmission is surprisingly good: the transmission actually learns the driving style of the driver and adapts the gearshifts accordingly.
The interior lives up to the performance; although the abnormally large front seats don’t always provide the support that’s required. The rear seats, on the other hand, are too small and can only be comfortable for little children, or shopping bags. Apart from that, the cabin of this car is good enough. There is a suit of bold materials that Infiniti decided to use: red leather door inserts and seats, aluminum accents on the dash and the center console, aluminum sport pedals and others.
The exterior also looks bold and aggressive, and the two large exhausts give the car the character of a racing vehicle.
Although this car sounds good in theory, a similarly priced, but a lot more powerful Chevrolet Corvette, or even the BMW 1 Series M Coupe would be the choice for me. Nevertheless, if you’re an Infiniti fan, the base price is $51,700.
