Although less popular than its compatriots from Aston Martin or Rolls-Royce, Morgan does manufacture some pretty interesting vehicles, the Plus 8 being no exception.
Perhaps you already know the rather erratic way Morgan designs its cars – they use a retro look, but fit the vehicle with high-tech equipment and top-of-the-art engines.
The Morgan Plus 8 is powered by a 4.8-liter V8 that delivers 398 horsepower and 490 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Plus 8 sprints from 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 156 mph. Comparing the look of this car with its performance kind of messes with your head, if I might say so. The car looks like it was produced in the mid 1910s, but acts (and sounds) like a 21 century supercar.
The passengers get all the comfort they need – double isolated mohair rooftop, air conditioning, leather seats and a sound system.
The Morgan Plus 8 breaks a record which is worth mentioning – it is now the lightest car to feature a V8 ever.
Morgan will release more information on this car at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month, so stay tuned on speedlux.com for more information.
