2013 Dark Olive Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda Complete Restore

by SpeedLux

The year 2013 will see yet another celebration of anniversaries for car makers and this time it is Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Benz W113 SL Pagoda will celebrate its 50th anniversary celebrations this year.

There was a photo taken of one of the Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda which is 1969 build and completely restored by Mercedes-Benz Classic Center USA in Irvine, California. The car has finishing of a dark olive and light ivory two tone coating with a complementary leather interior. The car also features a 2.8 liter in-line six engine connected to 4-speed manual transmission.

The Mercedes-Benz W113 SL was the car that succeeded the great and legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL gullwing. The company took a huge risk in launching such a replacement but it was quite successful in doing so. The car had straight lines that replaced curves while a low-slung roof was replaced by a high top design that eventually gave the car its nickname-the Pagoda.
