Ford’s new Fusion is now more eco-friendly, more powerful and better looking. The 2013 Fusion features a 2.5 L in-line 4 cylinder engine, but the buyer can also opt for the “greener” 2.0-liter EcoBoost, or the 1.6-liter EcoBoost.
The new intelligent electric power-assisted steering automatically reads road conditions and adjusts steering mode accordingly. The all-wheel drive is also intelligent, adjusting the amount of torque transmitted to each wheel for different road conditions.
The power output from the engine is hooked to a six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission that has Paddle Activators mounted on the steering wheel.
The 2.5-liter engine (Base model) produces 170 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, and has a fuel consumption of 33mpg. The 2.0-liter (Fusion Hybrid) has an output of 185 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque, with a fuel consumption of 47 mpg. The third version, the Fusion Energi delivers 185 horsepower with a fuel economy of 100 mpg.
Ford Fusion 2013 features state-of-the-art technology in order to keep the driver and passengers comfortable and in contact with the word. The SYNC system enables the driver to control vehicle functions through voice control while keeping their hands on the wheel. Such functions are music control, interior climate, phone calls, turn-by-turn directions. The SYNC also provides 911 Assist, traffic alerts, Vehicle Health Reports and other. Other interesting technologies included in the Fusion are the new BLIS with Radar for Cross-Traffic Alert, a rear view camera for parking, active parking assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping system, and others. The leather-trimmed heated seats get lumbar support and a power recline.
Sounds like the interior is great – well that’s not all there is to see in the 2013 Fusion. The exterior design is just as breathtaking as the magic happening inside. The car looks aggressive and high-tech at the same time. The base cost price is of around $20,000.
