Released today at the North American International Auto Show, the Veloster Turbo threatens to be an archrival for the Golf GTI, Honda Civic SI and Mini Cooper S, and has a better power-to-weight ratio than all of them. This model has two doors, three rear seats, and two front seats (driver and passenger).

The 1.6-liter turbocharged-gasoline direct injection engine provides 201 horsepower at 6000 rpm. The fuel economy is the best one in its class, estimated at 38mpg. It also has the best horsepower per liter in its class. The engine and steering are sport-tuned. The transmission is a six speed automatic or manual, that were both developed by Hyundai.

The Veloster Turbo’s engine and steering are sport tuned. It features unique front fascia, foglights, ground effects, the Hyundai-first Matte Gray paint, Side mirrors with turn signal indicators, projection headlights with unique LED headlight accents, and others.

On the inside there are leather seats and a supervision Cluster which provides information to the driver, a 7 inch touch-screen display, and Pandora internet radio compatibility. The front seats are heated.

The weight efficiency is a target for all Hyundai models. Thanks to this weight efficiency, the Veloster Turbo is able to provide a great performance and fuel efficiency, according to Hyundai, but the performances of this model are yet to be released.

This vehicle will be available in the second half of this year. The cost price is likely to be around $25.000.
