The Renault Megane is a small family car produced by the French automaker Renault since 1995. During time this car saw many changes in order to meet the standards of the market. Well, it seems that the car makers plans another facelift for its model. While the Megane family from Renault is up for a refresh, the spy photographers spotted the 5 door hatch and the Gran Tour (wagon) during some hot weather testing in Southern Europe and we can present you the spy shots.
As you can see in the photo gallery below, despite the fact that both prototypes are wearing heavy camouflage, the front will get a bigger lift to incorperate the new Renault family look while the rear lights will get new graphics. Bumpers will also change slightly. Although camouflage is a big obstacle we know to expect a new front fascia for the facelifted Megane, including a new bumper and headlights with LED daytimers. The back of the 5-door hatch Megane will come with a new taillight cluster.
Refresher: The 2011 Renault Megane 5-door hatchback is powered by a choice of three engines and three transmissions. There is a choice of a 110 hp 1.6-litre with a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 105 hp 1.5-litre with a 4-speed automatic gearbox, and a 143 hp 2.0-litre with a Nissan-sourced CVT automatic.
The Renault Megane (Phase II) facelift for the 5-door hatch and Grandtour wagon is expected to debut at the end of 2012 or early 2013.
