2013 Subaru Impreza XV going to U.S.

by Zack Colt

According to a report from Motor Authority, it has been confirmed by Subaru that the new XV crossover will head to the U.S. in 2013. This is the high-riding version of the new-for-2012 Impreza which goes on sale in the U.S. in just a few weeks, and it made its production debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month.

In the previous generations Subaru offered an Outback Sport trim on the Impreza in the States, and it deffinitely was more that a nice color paint and some accessories to improve the looks. For 2012 it is planned by the automaker something similar – the Impreza Sport model – which includes an all-weather package and 17-inch alloy wheels.

It isn’t yet clear what name will this car keep when it arrives to the U.S. There are of course possibilities, like the Outback Sport, which is a name that goes well not only with the company name, but with the style Subaru aproaches, but XV would deffinitely confirm that this car is different of all the automaker’s lineup, and would make a statement.

We will keep an eye on the evolution of the 2013 Subaru Impreza XV, and we shall see on what name the company decides to keep.
