Following an announcement made a few weeks ago, Chevrolet had unveiled the 2015 City Express at the Chicago Auto Show.
Described by Chevrolet as being a “versatile urban work van”, the 2015 City Express is actually based on the Nissan NV200. It is powered exclusively by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter gasoline engine with an output of just 131 hp (98 kW) and 188 Nm (139 lb-ft) of torque. The power will reach to both axles through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and will be able to offer a payload capacity of 1,500 lbs (680 kg).
Chevrolet states that the van benefits from a cargo capacity of 122.7 cubic feet (3,474 liters) and comes bundled with twenty cargo mounting points as well as six D-rings mounted on the floor. In terms of interiors, the cabin can be equipped with cruise control, keyless entry, USB & Bluetooth connectivity support, a rearview camera and GPS navigation. As standard it gets a fold-down passenger seat and a driver information center while for more money customers can order tinted windows.
Pricing of the 2015 Chevrolet City Express is yet to be announced but we can expect the same to be done close to the van’s market release.
