Some people in France have managed to come across and capture not one but quite a few images of the upcoming XF luxury sedan for the 2016 model year from the luxury British automaker, Jaguar. When spotted, the car was wearing a very heavy camouflage wrapping all of its body panels. Nonetheless, it does not prevent people from telling that this is apparently the next generation Jaguar XF. The car must have been undergoing some sorts of tests when it was spotted.
It turns out that the spy photos originate from a loyal reader of an online automotive news channel. Unfortunately, it seems that the reader in question is not quite experienced enough in taking spy photos as the photos captured do not really reveal too much of the vehicle as expected. What is clear on the spy images, however, is that the upcoming luxury sedan from the British marquee is going to feature a pair of headlamps integrated with LED daytime running lights. Another thing that has also been revealed about the vehicle, thanks to some earlier spy photos, is that it will be considerably bigger than the company’s XE entry level sedan model.
The 2016 Jaguar XF is said to be coming with the company’s newly developed iQ[AI] chassis. This chassis is used on the company’s XE model as well. Utilizing Jaguar’s new chassis, the next generation XF will most likely be about 100 kg lighter when compared to the outgoing XF model. As for the performance, customers will most likely have several options. To begin with, they can choose Jaguar’s Ingenium 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. Alternatively, customers can go for a 3.0L V6 supercharged engine. Yet, if that is still not ideal enough, a 5.0L V8 supercharged engine is also available at the top of the range.
