Volkswagen’s vehicle deliveries increased nearly 28 percent in first half

Volkswagen Group delivered nearly five million vehicles globally between January and June this year, 27.9 percent more than during the same period in 2020, the automaker said.

In Europe, the automaker delivered around 1.25 million vehicles in the first half of the year, 30.8 percent more compared to the last year, the figures showed.

The automaker’s deliveries in North America and South America during the period saw the most significant boost, increasing by 45.1 percent and 45 percent.

According to the automaker, deliveries in its largest single market, China, increased by 16.2 percent to around 1.59 million vehicles from January to June.

The core brand Volkswagen Passenger Cars delivered about 2.2 million vehicles during the first half, an increase of 22.9 percent year on year.

Deliveries of Audi, Volkswagen’s luxury car brand, increased by 38.8 percent year on year to reach 981,700 vehicles.
