A wild battle is being fought out there in China where Lamborghini fights Ferrari for gaining market share. Lamborghini took its strategic move by presenting eight new super cars for the Chinese market during its recently held “Lamborghini Brand Day.”
The cars that were displayed were the Gallardo LP 550-2, Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni, Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, Gallardo LP560-4 Coupe, Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder, Murciélago LP650-4 Roadster, Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce and Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce China which is a limited edition for the Chinese market and consumers only. There are six dealers for Lamborghini in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Hong Kong. There are a further two distributors working in Shenzhen and Xiamen. 38 units have been sold by the company in the period from January to April. That’s a 90 percent increase in sales as compared to sales last year. Ferrari also doubled sales by selling 68 units. By selling 100 units to the Chinese consumers Lamborghini would achieve an increase in sales by 25 percent which it appears to be able to do.
