This year, at Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar XKR-S stirred the crowd managing to lead to good remarks from the public. After this succes, the British luxury car manufacturer confirmed the XF sports sedan will also receive the same treatment. We’ll we have the very first photos of this new model, in a very incipient form.
At a glance this might seem a standard Jaguar XFR, but we believe that is actually a mule for the XFR-S version of the XF. Of course, it’s still missing the special body parts that the XFR-S probably will have, but, if you’re if you’re paying enough attention, you’ll see that the track looks slightly wider and it’s sporting the same wheels as the XKR-S already.
Beside this, other things that make us suspicious are the fact that, according to spy photographer who managed to take this shots, this mule is testing together with the XKR-S Convertible prototype. In addition, as expected, around Jaguar’s test center close to the Nürburgring are plenty of normal XFR driving, but this car succeded to surprise CarPix’ photographer with its unique sound.
While Jaguar offered no details on the future RS package for the XF sedan we will surely like driving a XF with 550 HP under the hood and featuring an impressive aerodynamic package.
Finally, Adrian Hallmark, Jaguars global brand director, has confirmed that Jaguar are working on a project to transfer the XKR-S upgrades to the XFR as well. If it’s so, then the new Jaguar will become a rough competitor for many supercars like the Audi RS6, the BMW M5 and the Mercedes E63 AMG.
As for the prices, is much to early to talk about this, but expect the new model to be priced around $70-80,000.

Some other websites reporting this one as a 2012 or 2013 XFR-S model, but you saying it is 2014 test mule. Which one is it?
How can we know just by seeing at it that it is 2014 model. I doubt it will be 2014 model, which is testing in 2011. It should be 2012 model I guess.
Sorry for the inconvenience, it was a drafting mistake.
However, keep in mind that this is a MULE, in a very incipient form. Actually at first sight is not different from the standard Jaguar XFR, so is a long way to officially launch, which certainly will not be in 2012.
