Four-door Porsche Panamera Sedan is finally on sale around the world in three configurations: Panamera S, Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo.
As Porsche spent tons of money on the new platform we will see more body versions of the Panamera in the near future.
First in in the pipeline is a two-door Cabriolet that will cost about 11,000 euros ($16,000) more than the Panamera sedan.
Little is known about the car, but according to insiders it will have two doors to increase the rigidity of the car’s body and limit the weight increase from adding the folding-roof mechanism.
Engine line-up is expected to stay the same ranging from a naturally aspirated V8 with 400 hp to a twin-turbo V8 with 500 hp.
“We have a broad range of 14 derivatives of the 911 that are very successful,” development chief Wolfgang Duerheimer told Automobilwoche. “So it stands to reason we should diversify the lineup for the Panamera as well.”
In addition to the Cabriolet we also expect to see a coupe version of the Panamera. Volkswagen will very likely use Panamera platform for other products like the next-generation Bentley Continental GT.
