In case you have yet to notice, the luxury marquee from the German soil, Mercedes-Benz, is currently prepping the next generation version of its E-Class model. Quite unfortunately for the company, the car has been caught on camera while undergoing some factory tests in Germany, wearing heavy camouflage. In spite of the heavy camouflage, however, it is still quite easy to tell that this is an upcoming E-Class model.
Judging by the spy images, it seems quite likely that the car will follow the design language that the company also uses on its S- and C-Class models. The car will reportedly take advantage of the MRA chassis, which is used by the Mercedes-Benz C-Class as well. Apart from the exterior, the interior of the vehicle also seems to follow the design language of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. This can be seen from the onboard infotainment system featuring a big display panel on the center console of the vehicle. In addition to that, four circular air vents inside the cabin even further confirm that the car follows the design language of the German company’s S-Class model.
Well, there should be enough bits and pieces of the interior and exterior by this point of time. Now, what about the performance that this new E-Class will have to offer? Well, in this case, if reports are to be believed, the vehicle is going to be coming with a new range of engines with six inline cylinders. It is said that the maximum displacement capacity will lie at the figure of 3.5 liters. Also, customers are going to be able to spend their money on the more affordable engines that are equipped with four instead of six cylinders if they feel like doing so. At the top of the range, a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine will power the E63 AMG variant. A plug-in hybrid variant of the model is potentially in consideration as well.
