BMW unveiled Hydrogen Hybrid Drivetrain

by Andrew Randall

I have to say that comparing to the electric drivetrain, the hydrogen fits better in the future. I can also say that a hydrogen drivetrain sounds more futuristic comparing to an electric drivetrain. As you can see, BMW have unveiled a hydrogen hybrid drivetrain so let’s see what’s up with this new drivetrain.

As you can see, I uploaded a photo in this post representing a hybrid drivetrain on a car built by MINI. Well, you see this because the next generation of MINI cars and the front-wheel-drive cars built in 2014 will feature this new drivetrain which is kind of exciting and new chapter talking about the energy for cars.

Actually, what you see in this photo is a front-drive powertrain, of course with hydrogen as fuel, an electricity-storing supercapacitors and also an electrically rear axle.

You can’t say that until now, there is no drivetrain like this because there is and it is also built by the same auto maker namely BMW. There are some BMW 1 Series Hatchback prototypes which are converted to front-wheel drive cars.

I don’t know how efficient is going to be this talking about the money spent on fuel on BMW cars but on a MINI, this fits perfect.
