This year Lotus has been in the limelight for quite sometime with their new SUV that they are developing to be launched in 2019 as well as the Evora 400 which is premiering in British marque’s factory in Hethel. The first production unit is set to be their “promotional car” which features a metallic black exterior and a supercharged 3.5 liter V6 engine which produces 400 bhp ( 406 PS/ 298 kW) and 410 Nm (302 Ib-ft) of torque. The Evora 400 is thus enabled to accelerate fom 0 to 60 mph in about 4.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
The CEO of Lotus Jean-Marc Gales made a statement stating “Today is a very significant stage in our long term plan, which we set-out more than a year ago. With the first Evora 400 coming off the line, we have achieved a key milestone for Lotus.” With a retailed price set at $89,000 the Evora 400 is the next generation of Lotus supercars with a new aluminum chasis, and revamped styling. The production of on-road cas will start shorlty and first deliveries are scheduled for August. Too bad for the Unites States and China because they have to wait until the early 2016.
